The ancient Maya techniques of abdominal massage incorporate a holistic approach to health, emotional and spiritual healing.
Dr. Arvigo learned these techniques from her mentor, Don Elijio Panti, the great Maya Shaman of Belize, Central America with whom she apprenticed for 10 years. Don Elijio passed away in 1996 at the age of 103. Rosita also studied with Miss Hortence Robinson, and Miss Beatrice Waight – both holding extensive midwifery and herbal traditions.
These ways of reverently working with all of a person have been grouped into the Arvigo (Maya) work. Allied to the Maya techniques, Dr Rosita Arvigo added in a selection of napropathic moves (village chiropractic from Czechoslovakia). Working with the front for the back and the back for the front and the connections that communicate within a body – we can make an astonishing difference to your life. Ligaments that may be holding the womb and all viscera hostage may then revert back to perfect positioning thus functioning.
Now those pesky ‘hormones’ may have no reason to be upset.
Digestion and Maya Abdominal Therapy
Maya Abdominal Therapy is a key factor in helping to relax the diaphragm, loosen the tight muscles around the stomach and the arteries that feed the digestive and eliminative organs with their vital blood supply. The digestion works to convert food to energy and basic nutrients to feed the body. With the many anxieties and stuck/repressed emotions held/stored in our body’s tissues and organs this may be a fraught process, often giving rise to symptoms and discomfort.
A very common place is in the organs of the digestive system. Stress messes with our ability to even digest our food – leaving us wide open to all degenerative conditions and discomforts. Poor digestion can affect our overall picture of health as approximately 80% of our immune system cells line the gastrointestinal tract. From a state of low immunity, most symptoms, allergies and degenerative conditions can begin.
